2010 Track & Field Coaching Staff

Andy Schultz - Head Coach, also Pole Vault and Jumping Coach

Andy Schultz is in his 17th year as a head track coach; seven of the last eight here at RHS. He has coached 20 individuals or relay teams to state championships over his tenure. Coach Schultz spent a year at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia in 2003 where they won indoor and outdoor state titles.  Before leaving for Virginia, he coached the girls track team here at Roswell to there first ever region championship in 2002.  Coach Schultz was an all-conference hurdler and sprinter at Western Carolina University from 1986-1990.  He holds a master’s degree in Special Education from North Georgia and teaches in the Special Education Department.  Coach Schultz is looking forward to the challenge of building a strong track program and having the best facilities in the state for his student-athletes. 

David Evans - Distance

Coach David Evans is in his fourth year coaching cross country at Roswell and his fifth year of coaching the distance runners in track and field.  He has previously coached cross country and track and field for four years at Andrew Jackson High in Jacksonville, FL and one year of track and field and the Bolles School also in Jacksonville.

Bob White - Distance

Coach White has been associated with Roswell Track and Field since 1996 and has coached cross country since 2006.  He graduated from Missouri State University where he ran track and cross country.  After college, he served as the head cross country and assistant track coach at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, from 1985 to 1990.  He and his wife, Lorie, live in Roswell and have two children in college. Currently, Coach White works at Centennial High School in the special education department as an intervention specialist.  He received his MAT in Business Education from the University of Georgia.

Justin Sanderson - Throwers

Justin Sanderson competed in football, basketball, and at Lassiter High School.  He went on to Valdosta State University on a football scholarship and then graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in History.  He is currently earning his masters degree through Valdosta State in Special Education.  Coach Sanderson has coached football for five years and the throwers on the track and field team the last three here at RHS.  He is married to Jamie McManus of Thomasville and they have two spoiled Labrador Retrievers. 

John Christiansen

Coaching experience: Roswell Football 3 years, First year of track.  Graduated from Georgia State with a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education.  Attended Roswell High school from 1996-2000, football, basketball, and baseball.  Teaches PE at Crababbple Crossing.  Looking forward to coaching track and field!
